About Me
Henry McKenzie
Product Designer
G’day!
It took 7 years of architecture study for me to realise that although I love design I need to work in a field where speaking to users is commonplace, that’s what led me to being a product designer. Testing, researching and watching real users engage with a product is what excites me about my job.
I was originally born in Melbourne, Australia before moving to Berlin. When I’m not designing I can generally be found playing Dungeons and Dragons, reading fantasy/sci-fi or chasing my daughter around.
Quick-fire round!
Favourite book
So many, so I will choose one from each of my main genres!
Fantasy: Lord of the Rings by J. R. R. Tolkien
Horror: The Ceremonies by T.E.D. Klein
Sci-Fi: Flowers for Algernon by Daniel Keyes
Favourite TV series
Freaks and Geeks.
Set in the 80s, filmed in the 90s, this is the comfort food of television.
Listening to currently
These days I’m listening to a lot of IDLES & Warmduscher. I guess if I had to say my favourite band of all time it would be LCD-Soundsystem.
Hidden talent
I’ve got double-jointed elbows!
Star Trek/Star Wars?
Star Trek!
One thing that surprises people
My friend and I put together a windows 95 costume for an “ugly 90s” party (think lots of lycra and neon). Anyway… our costume went semi-viral and got to the front page, top post of reddit!
